Lost tribes and mongrels

Continuing the Lost Tribes theme, I recall watching a TV programme in the UK a year or so ago, in which the idea was to take DNA samples from Brits who regarded themselves as being part of a unique, privileged island cultural heritage, which, for most of them, expressed itself in varying degrees of racism and longing for the old days of empire.

Lost Tribes

It's fascinating to read of the research into the lost ten tribes of Israel, who were exiled from the Northern Kingdom of Israel in 722 BCE, and where they have been traced to, using historical records, place and family names, religious practices and customs as well as genealogical research.
